Our economy no longer rides on the sheep’s back; Australia is now a nation of City dwellers – capital cities and regional cities.
Our cities – bringing wealth, cultural diversity, great food, sport and recreation – however they grow more populated which bring ever higher house prices, longer commutes and heavier traffic as its residents are being forced further out and away from their workplaces.
So, can we solve our cities’ problems?
- Paul Donegan – Co-author of ‘City Limits – Why Australia’s Cities are Broken and how we can fix them‘. Paul is from the Grattan Institute .
- Caroline Stalker – Director of architect firm Architectus Brisbane and adjunct professor at the School of design, Creative Industries at QUT.
- Peter Edwards – Director of Archipelago and immediate past president of the Urban Design Alliance of Queensland.
Both Caroline and Peter are keynote speakers are the upcoming International Urban Design conference in Brisbane.
