24 June 2013 — Brisbane Airport Corporation has registered its Property Development Master Plan to achieve a Green Star – Communities Pilot rating.
The Communities rating is a voluntary tool providing third-party verification of the sustainability of community and precinct-wide developments.
BAC’s 2012 property development plan is intended to guide the transformation of developable airport land over the next 50 years. Driven by the airport’s property division, BNE Property, the plan presents a vision for the airport as a business, retail and leisure hub.
“Our vision for this plan has always been to create a vibrant centre for commerce, innovation and recreation, and an internationally recognised model of sustainable development,” BAC’s property general manager Renaye Peters said.
